 FAQs

  • My approach to providing care is rooted in a deep understanding of how culture, family history, and personal experience shape an individual's mental health journey. As a first-generation Latino male, I recognize the unique challenges that can arise in cultures where discussing emotions is often seen as taboo. My goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel seen, heard, and understood. I believe in a collaborative, person-centered approach, where I partner with clients to help them heal from the past and build a more resilient and authentic future. My practice is guided by the NASW Code of Ethics, and I am here to support you in your journey to wellness, whatever that may look like for you.

  • My client focus is on providing compassionate and culturally-sensitive care to individuals and families. I am dedicated to helping clients who are navigating challenges related to acculturation, intergenerational trauma, and the stigma surrounding mental health in diverse populations. I believe that by understanding and honoring your unique cultural background, we can work together to heal from the past and build a more resilient future. I provide a safe, affirming, and non-judgmental space for teens (16+) and adults. My goal is to help you build the tools you need to create a life that is both authentic and fulfilling.

  • My communication style is direct, empathetic, and collaborative. I aim to create a transparent and non-judgmental space where you can feel comfortable being yourself. I believe that clear communication is the foundation of a strong therapeutic relationship and that by working together, we can address your concerns and build a path toward healing.

  • My journey is one of acculturation, professional discovery, and personal growth. I was drawn to this profession by a passion to confront the silence and stigma that often surround mental health in cultures like my own, where emotions are rarely addressed. I also began my career with a bachelor's degree in Political Science and was elected as one of the youngest officials in my city. After some time, I realized that my passion for serving the community was not fulfilled in that role. I then transitioned to a career in the private sector, but found that financial success was no substitute for personal happiness. This led me to my own mental health journey, which inspired me to leave my job and take a significant pay cut to become a behavioral health case manager. My experience in that role cemented my purpose and motivated me to pursue my MSW and licensure, knowing I could make a more meaningful impact. This path has given me a deep and personal appreciation for the therapeutic process, and I am committed to creating a safe space for others to find their own path to healing.

  • Whatever your goal is to be honest. I work with patients to establish a clear and actionable treatment plan that is tailored to their individual needs and unique circumstances. Our process begins with setting realistic and meaningful goals. We then work together to identify the obstacles that stand in the way of achieving those goals and develop concrete strategies to overcome them. I incorporate evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques to provide patients with the tools and support they need to build resilience, make lasting changes, and ultimately reach their goals.

  • A first session with me is a collaborative and compassionate space where we can connect on a human level. You can expect to talk, and to laugh, or even to cry, as we begin building a trusting relationship. We’ll discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your personal history, and your hopes for the future, so that together we can create a clear and actionable path toward your goals. My main objective is for you to leave our first session with a sense of hope and a clear understanding of what your therapeutic journey will look like.

  • More than anything, I enjoy going to baseball games. I’m a huge New York Yankees fan. My life goal is to go to each stadium to watch the Yankees play and pick up a wooden souvenir bat from each stadium.

I also enjoy traveling and seeing what the world and various cultures have to offer. That’s honestly where I got the idea for the name of this organization.

Finally, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, including my Golden Retriever Hazelnut (who you just may see at session at times).

  • Originally went to Buttonwillow School for the first few years of my life. I then moved to Shafter and went to schools there. Once I obtained my High School Diploma from Shafter High, I attended California State University Bakersfield where I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science with a Minor in Sociology. I then returned back to school in 2018 to obtain my Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California.
